How does HUD PowerBid use uploaded inventory?
HUD PowerBid editorial team. Reviewed September 30, 2026.
The answer
Subscribers upload an official HUD Case List spreadsheet containing the properties they want to analyze. After checking the imported records, users select a property and review its bid plan. Uploaded inventory and bid records stay inside the subscriber's account.
Start with your selected inventory
Use the supported official HUD Case List Excel or CSV format in the import workflow. Review the current listing before making an offer because an uploaded file is a snapshot, not a live status confirmation.
HUD PowerBid does not sign into your HUD account to retrieve private inventory or submit information.
Check the imported property details
After import, review case numbers, location, list price, and other available fields. Correct missing or outdated details before relying on the analysis. Your recommendation is only as useful as the inputs and assumptions.
- Upload the supported inventory file.
- Check the imported property records.
- Select the property for analysis.
- Review valuation and cost assumptions.
- Set the buyer's maximum and review the opening recommendation.
Keep the offer history with the property
Use the selected property record to track the initial bid, counters, revised offers, and outcome. This keeps the working analysis and the decision history together.
Complete all official submission and status checks through the required HUD process. Recording a bid in HUD PowerBid does not send the bid to HUD.
Separate subscriber inventory from model evidence
Your uploaded inventory supports your own property workflow. Public nationwide listing and accepted bid data used for model research serve a different purpose. Treat model evidence as analytical context, not a replacement for the current listing or official messages.
Frequently asked questions
Is uploading a file the same as submitting an offer?
No. Uploading prepares the analysis workspace. Offer submission takes place separately through the official HUD process.
Is uploaded inventory shared with other subscribers?
The app provides private subscriber inventory and bid records. Other subscribers do not browse your uploaded property workspace.
